DE FABLAB MANAGER / FABACADEMY+ UPSACLAY
The second iteration of the Fablab Manager Diploma – a.k.a. The FabAcademy+ at UPSaclay – will take place between September 2019 and September 2020 (exact dates to be confirmed). Before taking part in the year-long training, students will first prepare themselves for the Fab Academy with a series of courses in Advanced Electronics, Human Computer Interaction, Design and Philosophy of Design. After the Fab Academy course, a four month long internship will take place before students are awarded a diploma. A final project defence will take place before the end of the cycle.

#2 - IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE SIGNING UP
1 It is highly recommended to find housing as close as possible to Fablab Digiscope in order to take full advantage of this training.
2 Our staff may be trilingual but it remains essential to understand english in order to follow Neil Gershenfeld's courses and to be able to document projects online.
3 You should sign up for the Fab Academy and the Université of Paris-Saclay. You will therefore be signing up twice.
4 Ensure that your personal computer is in good working condition before starting the course.
5 Make sure to have confirmed your financial investment one month before the begining of the program.
6 A minimun of 25 hours a week of on-site presence is required to earn the diploma. Please organize your schedules to take this into account.
7 It is strongly recommended to avoid overloading one's schedule with parallel activities during the course of the Fablab Manager Diploma.
8 The DE Fablab Manager requires large degrees of autonomy and independent work. Please be sure of your personal commitment before signing up.
9 The DE Fablab Manader is a program which is open to the world and open to all. In order to fully take advantage of this program, it's essential to interact often with the staff and the other students in the program.

#4 - DETAILS OF INCLUDED SERVICES (NON-EXHAUSTIVE)



1 Access to the first French university degree in Digital Fabrication
2 Exclusive fall access to Fablab Digiscope for DE students thursdays and fridays 8am-8pm, plus independent access - with free reservation - to Fablab Digiscope Monday to Wednesday 8am -8pm (36hrs/week) for one year (except french holidays and weekends) pendant 1 an (sauf jours fériés français et week-ends) equalling about 60hrs/week in total.
3 Access to the Fab Academy and to Neil Gershenfeld courses at MIT for twenty weeks.
4 Access to all the machines at the Fablab Digiscope.
5 Access to a personal desk and storage space in the student room.
6 Access to all the materials necessary for the completion of the Fab Academy assignements.
7 Student guidance from at either one or two instructors.
8 Total access to the UPSud student amenities (reasonably priced meals, sports and artistic activities, reasonably priced transportation rates).
9 500MB of digital storage on Gitlab.
10 A 3D Experience/xDesign licence.
11 An Autodesk Education licence.
12 An entrace ticket for the international Fablab conference for students receiving the diploma.
